The Greenock & District Scouts & Guides ARC Radio team including Kai MM1AUF , Eunice MM3UVL, & Stephi MM3YGE from Scotland have had a busy few months visiting Beavers, Cubs & Scout groups in the District to work through the Communicator badge with the young people.
They also joined up with Greenock & District Beavers for their annual Beaver Fun Day and a number of local groups at the local scout campsite in Inverkip to provide Amateur Radio as an activity.
The team set up a radio related “wide game” outside in the campsite. The cubs loved running through the mud, of which there was lots!
They also did some Morse Code training, instruction on the use of the Phonetic Alphabet and the Scouts, Cub Scouts & Beavers had the opportunity to send a greetings message over the airwaves using Amateur Radio.
Everyone had a great time during all the activities and all gained their Communicators badge. Once again the Morse Code element proved a great success.
